French Lique1 side, Nice, on Friday announced Adrien Ursea, Swiss-Romanian tactician as Patrick Vieira’s replacement at the club.
Adrien Ursea, before his elevation to the manager seat, was the Assistant coach to Patrick Vieira at Nice.
The announcement comes after they released a statement saying that they have parted ways with the Arsenal legend and Manchester City player, after a poor run of results, and exit from the Europa League competition.
Nice in a statement released on Friday 4th December 2020, on their official website, while confirming the sacking of Patrick Vieira, stated that they have made the immediate appointment of Adrien Ursea as Patrick Vieira’s replacement.
According to the club’s statement, the Rouge et Noir club said that: they: “have decided to appoint Adrien Ursea as head coach of the club’s professional first team, as of today”.
“The Swiss-Romanian tactician, who was assistant coach to Patrick Vieira and, before that, Lucien Favre, will take charge of his first Nice match as head coach this Sunday with the trip to Reims,” the club stated at Patrick Vieira’s replacement.
On parting ways with Patrick Vieira, the club on Friday, released this statement announcing the sacking of the ex-French international and world cup winner. The statement reads:
“Patrick Vieira, who joined the club in the summer of 2018, is no longer head coach of OGC Nice, effective immediately.
In a meeting conducted after last night’s match, the Nice Board informed Patrick Vieira of their decision to end their collaboration,” the club statement said.
The club statement continued:
“Patrick Vieira put all his heart and professionalism into his service for OGC Nice over the last two and a half years of their collaboration.
The Nice board sincerely thanks the former France international for his commitment and dedication to the development of the club and wishes him every future success in his coaching career,” the statement added.
