President Muhammadu Buhari has agreed to delay the execution of the Executive Order 10 he recently signed, which gives autonomy to state legislature and judiciary.

The Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, stated this to State House Correspondents after a delegation of the Forum met with the Minister of Finance, Hajia Zainab Ahmed, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Dr Fayemi said they earlier met with President Buhari over issues concerning the bill on autonomy to state Legislature and Judiciary, during which they gave their support to it.

He said the President showed understanding to their foresight and instigated a meeting to address grey areas in the autonomy to state Legislature and Judiciary Order.

Dr Fayemi said the Governors had also been consulting with the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures to work out an amicable resolution of the matter.
