German International Toni Kroos has renewed his contract with the reigning European champions, Real Madrid, putting to an end speculations that he was leaving the La Liga side to Manchester United.
Toni Kroos extended his contract that will now run to 2023 as he speaks about his determination to win more titles with Real Madrid.
The German while speaking on his new contract, said he cannot leave Estadio Santiago Bernabeu after a trophyless year.
“This is a very happy day and this is very special,”
“I’ve had a lot of success with Real Madrid and I’m sure we’ll have more in the coming years.”My plan is to finish up at Real Madrid.”
This should be my last big extension.”I never thought about going because I only thought about changing this situation.”I want to leave only when we’re on top, when we’re winning.”
On Zinedine Zidane returning to the club, the German had this to say:
“I won’t tell you what he told me,” he said of his discussion with the coach.”I spoke with him and I know what his plan is.”I’ll have an important role, but I won’t say more.”Zidane knows me and knows where I can play, while in my view the left is my ideal position
.“If there were doubts about my future then I wouldn’t be here today.”[The signing of Paul Pogba] wouldn’t change anything.”I’ll fight for my place.”Kroos reflected on the 2018/19 campaign, which was a nightmare one for Los Blancos.”
I was a disappointing season, especially when you’re used to winning.” he said.
“I have no issue with admitting I didn’t play well.”Nobody reached their top level like we had in previous years.”When this happens with so many players then it’s hard to win.”
We’re all human and this is quite normal after winning three Champions League titles in a row.”What’s not
We’re very motivated for next season.”I won’t say that we’ll win everything because I don’t know, but we will try.”We need the fans for this, we need the Bernabeu.” he said.
