The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked Nigerians to disregard the video allegedly showing Naira Marley release from prison, saying the video and news of the singer release are fake.

According to the report by Sahara Reporters which broke the news a few hours ago, said a top official of the anti-graft agency who spoke to one of their reporters about the trending video, confirmed that Naira Marley release is fake and the video was a propaganda by his friends to launder his image.

The video as released online showed Naira Marley in the same outfit he wore to the court on Monday being escorted by some of his friends into a car, with him smiling to the cameras. The video which appeared at first to be real, has been confirmed to be fake by EFCC as they assure the public that the singer is still in jail awaiting his bail application set for the 30th of May 2019.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday ordered that Nigeria singer be remanded in prison until May 30th when the hearing of his bail application will take place.
