Burna Boy a few hours ago took to his social media page to show off his O2 arena plague after selling out the 2,000 capacity arena in London.
The Nigerian musicain who is one of Africa’s best, has never failed his fans and Nigerians when it comes to his craft and style of Afrobeat sound, which he sometimes infused with the raggea dancehall feel, making it contegeous that when they hit the speakers you become helpless and carried away.
Burna Boy since his breakthrough has never looked back, churning out hit songs upon hit songs that has made him one of the modern day Afrobeat greats.
His style unique, raw and rough in the sense that he allows his listeners feel the soul of his songs, just like Fela would do, but most importantly, his lyrics are very relatable and original while at thesame time appealing to everyone, race and even tribe.
This is so, because while others were shocked and carried away that he sold out O2 arena, we were never suprised. He is that one artist we have followed through the years to realise that it was just a matter of time Nigerians starts to recognize that he carries with him a huge talent and someone that has never been given his respect and dues.
It took selling out O2 Arena for some Nigerians to realise that Burna Boy is actually a talent and a super star!….
The O2 Arena is the entertainment and event centre in London famous for attracting big celebrities and top shows, and for a Nigerian to shutdown the centre, who also will not be the first, shows how far we have come and how fast African songs have gone viral.
Burna boy who just released his new album OUTSIDE has almost all the songs as hit songs, like YE, Heaven’s gate, streets of Africa and many more.
I feel Nigerian Musicians have shutdown O2 arena more than any other African musician(s) from other African countries. Or I should be using world and not Africa sef…lol
