Smart Adeyemi since the unfortunate news of the death of his wife, has been receiving condolence messages from friends and family members, and one of those that has expressed his sadness is no other than his political rival, Senator Dino Melaye.

Senator Dino Melaye who is the Senator representing Senator Smart Adeyemi and the entire Kogi West Federal constituency, a few hours ago, commiserated with the former Senator on the death of his wife, Mrs. Yemisi Smart Adeyemi.

Senator Smart Adeyemi is the immediate past Senator who represented Kogi West Senatorial District at the Senate between 2007 -2015 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he lost his seat to Senator Dino Melaye in 2015.

Senator Smart Adeyemi a few months back, decamped from his party PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Senator Dino Melaye also went the other way, dumping APC to the PDP.

According to report, the Co-ordinator of smart Adeyemi vanguard Lokoja chapter, Barr. Labaran confirmed the death of Mrs. Yemisi Smart Adeyemi in a statement on Saturday. The statement reads:

“With deepest and heartfelt sorrow I condole our Distinguished senator Smart for the sudden loss of his beloved wife today, we pray that Almighty give you the strength to bear this sudden great loss!”

On his part, putting their political difference aside, Senator Dino Melaye taking to his social media page, said:

“Sen. Smart Adeyemi accept my empathy over the loss of your beloved wife. It came as a rude shock. Our God who is the greatest comforter will comfort you in times like this. It is well with you. Affliction shall not arise again. God is your strength.

May the Almighty God grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace” He said on his social media page.

Both Senators who are political rivals, will be contesting for the 2019 general election to represent Kogi West.
