Scottish actress Karen Gillan is, 36, debuted her blossoming bump as she graced the red carpet at The Life of Chuck Premiere in Canada on Friday night.

Karen Gillan is expecting her first child with husband Nick Kocher, whom wed in May 2022 at Castle Toward near Dunoon in Argyll.

The Jumanji actress looked glowing and radiant in a yellow bodycon dress, teamed with perspex heels at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere.

Karen, who has not disclosed the gender of her baby, cradled her growing bump as she graced the red carpet.

Karen, who boasts 7.8million Instagram followers, is yet to announce her joyful news on social media.

Her wedding was a glamorous affair, with family and friends arriving in a luxury superyacht, while Nick and the groomsmen opted for a speedboat.

A-list guests, reported to have included Julia Roberts and Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jnr were understood to have been in attendance, while Smith and Moffat were also said to have been invited.

The Hollywood star is now based in the US and is starring in ITV drama Douglas is Cancelled.

In June, Karen Gillan popped up on The One Show sofa to discuss her role in the new ITV drama about a TV host being cancelled after making a sexist joke.

Had making the series, presenters Alex Jones and Clara Amfo wanted to know, made her think twice about using social media?

‘My finger’s been hovering over the delete account button since the show,’ she admitted.
Her legion of fans will be hoping she doesn’t press it any time soon.

For Karen is now one of Scotland’s biggest Hollywood stars, with a string of box office hits behind her and a massive social media following.

In 2019 she was named the third- highest grossing star at the box office, behind Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L Jackson, having appeared in two of that year’s biggest smashes, Avengers: Endgame and Jumanji: The Next Level.

It is perhaps a mark of how big a star Karen is in the US that when she posted a trailer for the new ITV show on her Instagram page, where she has 7.9million followers, one US fan asked: ‘What the heck is ITV?’

Perhaps a more apt question might be: what the heck is such a big Hollywood star doing on ITV? But Karrn, who grew up in Inverness and has lived in the US for the best part of a decade, says she is delighted to be back on home turf.

‘It’s been so nice to come back to the UK and work with everyone that I love so much,’ she says of Douglas Is Cancelled, which is written by fellow Scot Steven Moffat – famous for Sherlock and running Doctor Who from 2009 to 2017 – and also stars Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville.

Douglas Is Cancelled sees Bonneville, who shares a morning TV sofa with Gillan’s character, in hot water after an ill-advised comment at a wedding goes viral.

It will inevitably draw comparisons with real life cancel controversies including those of Phillip Schofield and Huw Edwards.

Indeed, at one point Bonneville speaks to his agent, who warns him that he risks the fate of fellow broadcasters ‘whatshisname and the other one’.
