Actress Anne Hathaway has shared a genius hack that she says gives her plump, full lips.
In a new TikTok video posted to her account this week, the Devil Wears Prada actress shared her beauty trick, and all you need is a hairpin.
‘It’s the first setup, I’ve been sat in a hair for a while, we get on the set and I take a look at the monitor and I noticed, I thought my upper lip looked a little, wilted?’ she began the clip, which was filmed as she was getting ready to film a new campaign for beauty brand Shiseido.
Anne Hathaway explained that she had asked her hair stylist for a hairpin, which ended up solving her problem.
Her secret?
Gently tapping and pushing the hairpin along the top of your lip.
‘I went in and I sort of stimulated my lip to try to get some blood flow back there to get some circulation and everybody looked at me like I had three heads,’ Hathaway joked, as she demonstrated to viewers how she does it.
However, there was one important disclaimer about the technique that the Les Misérables actress Anne Hathaway had to share.
‘You can push too hard, it’s meant to be a gentle, gentle thing that you don’t do for longer than 30 seconds,’ she warned.
‘Don’t stab yourself, if you’ve drawn blood, you’ve gone too far, it’s not a vampire LipTok, it’s just a little something to kind of wake your upper lip up,’ the Princess Diaries star added.
Hathaway’s hack left many TikTok viewers in shock.
‘As someone with barely an upper lip; I thank you,’ one person commented.
Another wrote, ‘Pop off liptok queen! I’m pale so this would really help! thank you!’
‘We need more tips like this!’ another user begged.
Others even shared their own hacks for achieving a plumper lip.
‘I used to apply minty lip gloss and wipe it off after 5 mins. Removed all crusty dead skin and helps rejoice my lips,’ someone else typed.
Another wrote, ‘I would poke mine with a toothbrush, or use a ice cube, but will try this too.’
Hathaway recently made headlines for her latest film, an age-gap flick The Idea of You that premiered on Prime.
In the film, Anne’s character Solène sparks up a romance with boyband member Hayes Campbell, played by Nicholas Galitzine.
The movie currently has an 82 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
