Lenny Kravitz says he would ‘love’ to make music with his daughter Zoe Kravitz in the future.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, the Fly Away singer, 60 who is now celibate, shared that if he and The Batman star, 35, were to collaborate it would need to be ‘organic.’
Lenny Kravitz is a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter with chart-topping tracks like ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ and ‘Again’ — who has released 12 studio albums since 1989.
Along with being an A-list actress, Zoe is a successful musician in her own right as she’s part of the R&B duo Lolawolf and recently co-wrote the Taylor Swift hit ‘Lavender Haze.’
‘I would love to do anything with my daughter because it’s my daughter, and it would have to be an organic creative experience,’ Lenny Kravitz told the publication on Thursday.
‘We wouldn’t just do something to do it just to do it. If something called us to do it, then we would.’
Zoe is the New York native’s only child with ex-wife and The Cosby Show star Lisa Bonet, 56.
They wed back in 1987, two years before the release of Lenny’s debut album and at the height of Lisa’s The Cosby Show fame and welcomed Zoe one year later.
The couple separated in 1991 and were legally divorced by 1993.
Lenny Kravitz detailed their marriage struggles on his second studio album Mama Said. It was released in April 1991 and featured the poignant track ‘It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over.’
Despite the split, Lenny and Lisa have maintained a tight friendship and he recently credited her for helping him find his signature style.
‘I am what I am because of our experience, because of everything that I was, everything that she was and everything that came together,’ he told PEOPLE in March.
Over the weekend, Lisa and Zoe reunited with Lenny to celebrate his 60th birthday at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, France.
Zoe is the New York native’s only child with ex-wife and The Cosby Show star Lisa Bonet, 56; the family seen in 2016.
He was spotted arriving to the big bash with a mystery woman on his arm after he recently confessed to CBS’ Gayle King that he’s ‘open’ to the idea of a relationship.
Soon after, he told the The Guardian that he’s celibate and hasn’t dated for nine years as part of a ‘spiritual’ journey.
Last week, Lenny released his highly-anticipated 12th studio album Blue Electric Light and he will soon kick off a five-day residency in Las Vegas.
He told PEOPLE on Thursday that the residency is a ‘celebration of life, music, love, of rock ‘n’ roll.’
Lenny then explained why he thinks Las Vegas is the perfect place to ‘introduce’ fans to Blue Electric Light.
‘It’s always been a great part of entertainment history, and I thought it’d be a great warm-up, a great place to start and present to America,’ the Grammy-winner said.
Thanks to his disciplined, healthy lifestyle, Lenny is fully geared up for the five-day residency slated for October and hasn’t had to prepare much.
‘I train five days a week, I lift weights, I do cardio, I eat well, I try to rest well when I can. It’s just part of life — it’s not even a question,’ he said.
Zoe and her fiance Channing Tatum showed their support for Lenny as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in March.
Showing just how closer she is to her father, the Big Little Lies star playfully roasted him as she spoke during the ceremony attended by his BFF Denzel Washington and singer Marla Gibbs.
‘I’ve seen the way you show up and take care of the people you love. I’ve seen your incredible dedication to your art, but mostly, I’ve seen through your shirts,’ Zoe deadpanned as Lenny started laughing.
‘According to my dad, if it doesn’t expose your nipples, it’s not a shirt,’ she continued.
‘Your relationship with the netted shirt is probably your longest one and it works,’ Zoe also was shown saying in a clip from the March ceremony.
