The vaccine health pass has been finally adopted by the French government, after three nights of debate, AFP reports.

According to the report, after three nights of debate, the presidential majority managed to pass the bill establishing the vaccination health pass. And reactions were mixed on the benches of the National Assembly.

Unsurprisingly, Macronie welcomed its adoption, even though the health pass is not expected to be rolled out on January 15, as the government had hoped.

Christophe Castaner, the president of the LaREM group, welcomed the fact that the vote made it possible to “protect the French, by putting pressure on those who choose not to be vaccinated”.

“This is the spirit of responsibility,” said the former Minister of the Interior.

These views were also shared by Marc Fesneau, who said: “Thank you to all those who have worked for this, this evening and these days in the only interest that is worth: that of our fellow citizens and their health”, welcomed the Minister in charge of relations with the Parliament on Twitter .

On the opposition benches, the story is quite different. Among the rebels, strongly opposed to the vaccine health pass, Mathilde Panot, the president of the group in the National Assembly, regretted the creation of a “Republic of the QR code, the control of one part of the population by another, the ban of millions of our fellow citizens “.

“We will continue to fight against this dangerous and liberticidal text”, further argued the member for Val-de-Marne on the social network .

On the side of the National Gathering, also fiercely opposed to the vaccine pass, the deputy Nicolas Meizonnet, for his part, regretted the vote “of a batch of measures all more absurd and ineffective than the others” on the social network to the bird blue.

Among the Republicans who officially defended the vaccine pass as recalled by the presidential candidate Valérie Pécresse , the reactions are intended to be very civilized. The group however fractured on the vote, only a third of the deputies having voted in favour of the text.

Damien Abad, the leader of the group, explained that “in responsibility, a clear majority (2/3) of our group did not oppose the bill” on Twitter .

The deputy Julien Aubert who brought the iron against the text in the hemicycle, also wanted to be very factual by simply tweeting that he had voted “against this text”. A minimum service which is explained in particular by the criticisms of the executive which denounced the “hypocrisy” of LR on the subject.

The Senate will study the text at the beginning of next week, before the Constitutional Council seizes it for a deployment scheduled for the end of January.
