The Anambra State Police Command have arraigned two gang rape suspects before a magistrate court in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The two gang rape suspects accused of raping a 16-year-old, are
45-years-old Chidiebere Uzoma of Ukaegbu Street Awada and,
a 23-year-old Uchenna Nwegbu of Osumowo street, Awada.
According to the statement released by the Police, the two accused committed the crime on 19th February 2021.
They were accused of brutally raping the 16-year-old girl at Osumowo Street Awada in Idemili North, leaving her unconscious due to excessive loss of blood.
Police said the victim was taken to the hospital for medical Examination where penetration and multiple lacerations of her hymen were confirmed.
Following the report, police detectives trailed and arrested the suspects. And upon interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the alleged crime.
The suspects were arraigned on 11th March 2021 for prosecution after an investigation was concluded.
