Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole sweeps on the hideouts of Boko Haram in a clearance operation, as they scamper for safety from the heavy bombardment, leaving their wives and children. The Nigerian troops later captured the wives and children after interrogation as they continue the operation that will bring a total end to the menace of the group in the North East of the country.
In the last weeks, the troops rebelled, captured and freed thousands of men, women and children from Boko Haram captivity, as they have continued to make progress in their fight to flush out the remnant of Boko Haram terrorists in and around the northeast. This latest news is sure one of those success stories in the fight.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Brigadier Texas Chukwu released a statement confirming the new development, as he urged the public for more support. He said:
Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade, Operation LAFIYA DOLE while on clearance patrol intercepted three women and children. The women on interrogation confessed of being wives of Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Mangusun following the ongoing clearance operation.
