Nigerian Entertainer, Oladapo Oyebanjo known better as D’Banj has shared a new video on his Instagram on Monday, where he appeared to be mocking his alleged rape victim, Seyitan Babatayo.
D’Banj took to his social media to once more, respond to critics and his alleged rape victim, Seyitan Babatayo, where he said all their evil plans will fail. He captioned the video with:
“Innocent until proven guilty…., STOP SOCIAL MEDIA TRIAL 🏛🏛🏛⚖️⚖️⚖️ #SAY NO TO RAPE AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION”
The singer who went mute after he allegedly arrested Seyitan Babatayo and her mother after she accused him of rape, shared the video where he was singing to one of his hit songs, ‘Olorun Maje’.
The singer spotting a dark shade with a jacket, and black pant with a cowboy hat to match, appeared in the video where he was singing out loud praying and kicking against those wishing for his downfall.
Well, for those of you who are not familiar to the song titled ‘Olorun Maje’ which means ‘God forbids’ in English, was a song D’banj sang in Yoruba and was released in 2008 under the now defunct Mo’hits records.
D’Banj shared the video saying:
“Some people dey wan make I cry
Some people dey make I die, why?
Olorun maje oooo
Some people dey pray make I slow
Some people no wan make I grow no
Olorun maje oooo
Help me sing it out loud
Olorun maje Olorun maje Olorun maje Olorun maje
Ko de ni baje fun wa
Ko ni baje fun eh
Different different people dey this world
Some dem like me while some show me love
Some no go let you drink water drop cup
They wan put sand sand for my garri but e no work
Tell me why you wanna run me down
Tell me why you wanna see me frown
Tell me why you wanna take my crown…”
Clearly the right song for the moment, and while D’banj seems to be having the fun of his life despite all the allegations and even with the alleged suspension of his ambassador deal with Heritage Bank, Seyitan Babatayo has not been making posts on her social media accounts. But we are waiting to see where all these ends, and like D’Banj rightly said, innocent until proven guilty by the court of law…we dey wait
