Africa’s top blogger and billionaire herself, Linda Ikeji dragged for asking people to emulate the latest Forbes ranked billionaire, Shawn Corey Carter who is famously known as JayZ in the entertainment world, on how he moved from being a notorious drug dealer to becoming a billionaire through legit businesses.

Popular magazine, Forbes had a few days ago, named JayZ the husband to Beyonce as the first in Hip-Hop history and rapper to become a billionaire, with businesses scattered all over from music to Sports, Real Estate, art collection, and other investments. The news have since generated alot of reactions both from friends and fans, and Linka Ikeji being a blogger, has also reacted, as she sees the rapper as a worthy role model for the youths to emulate.

Linda Ikeji who has since pulled down her tweet, had on Wednesday morning taken to her Twitter handle to put out this tweet which some of her fans questioned her if she was encouraging illegal drug business and fraud popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo by her tweet. This was her tweet:

“Jay Z was once a drug dealer. Now he’s a billionaire from legit businesses. That’s the kind of story that should be made into a movie. Young people need to watch and learn” she had twitted.

After her attention was drawn to her tweets and how she could be misinterpreted, she tried to defend it, by putting out another tweet which was a reply to one of her followers. See the exchange between her and the fan: The fan question her tweet saying:

“In Nigeria, all the Yahoo boys and drug dealers will now feel they are on the right path. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Dangote and tons of others never had to pass through the crime life but they are still a billionaire. Those are the examples I prefer just to avoid confusion”.

She replied to the fan trying to clarify her tweet saying:
“I kinda like the adversity, lack of direction and poverty at the beginning of his story and later turning his life around and doing phenomenal things. That’s the stuff of legends. It gives hope to people going through hardship that they too can turn their lives around”

…and the fan replied:
True. May they see that as the main theme of your tweet.
