Financial Fair Play: CAS rules in favour of Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain has won their case against UEFA on charges of Financial fair play as the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Tuesday ruled in favour of the French Ligue1 club side.

The club won the case after the appeal they made against UEFA on the 3rd October 2018 to the Court of Arbitration for Sport as relating to their financial dealings in the game.

According to Paris Saint-Germain the club has already respected the rules of UEFA and FIFA as it relates to Financial Fair play and will continue to do so, as the club continues its development with confidence.

The club reiterates that it has always respected the rules and has always responded calmly and transparently to the repeated requests of UEFA and the CFCB.

Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that since the 10-day period will begin to run from the date of the decision of the investigator, it means that the reconsideration was to take place in 10 days and that the contested decision, having been made after that time, was obviously late and had to be annulled”.However,Paris Saint-Germain  remains under investigation for their 2017-18 finances for the world record signing of Neymar from Barcelona for a world record £222m euros (£200m) and Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, initially on loan, for 180m euros (£165.7m).

Although Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled in favour of Paris Saint-Germain, they are not totally off the hook here, as the judgement reached was with respect to 2015-2016/2017 seasons, as UEFA will not be able to return to the investigation concerning the club in these periods, but only on the 2017-2018 season.
