Coronation Street star Justin Moorhouse has announced the tragic death of his son Barney.
In announcing the sad news, Coronation street star Justin Moorhouse took to Instagram on Saturday to confirm the heartbreaking news, saying his son ‘just went to sleep and didn’t wake up.’
Coronation street star Justin Moorhouse wrote: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts I have to tell you our beautiful boy Barney has passed away.
‘Me, his mum and step mum, his sister, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents and his gorgeous friends are besides ourselves with grief.
‘I am consoling myself as much as I can knowing that he loved us all and knew we loved him. He was so happy, content and excited about the future. The sweetest, kindest soul.
‘He just went to sleep and didn’t wake up. I can’t imagine how the next days and weeks will unfold but I know we are able to cope – love always helps.
‘I am him and he is me. Sleep tight Barney. Dad x
‘Appreciate your kindness and sensitivity towards the family at this time.’
Fellow comedian John Bishop was among those who paid tribute, writing: ‘Justin this is so heartbreaking.
‘I remember the kind fun little boy who grew to be a man to be proud of. There are no words. All of our love goes out to all of you at this time.’
Comedian Stephen Bailey wrote: ‘I’m so sorry Justin! Sending lots of love xxx’.
Jen Brister added: ‘Justin, this is devastating. There are no words but sending you all the love.’
Murder In Successville actor Tom Davis wrote: ‘My love and prayers go out to you and your family mate. I’m so sorry.’
Justin is known for starring as Young Kenny in the sitcom Phoenix Nights alongside its creator Peter Kay.
He later appeared as Dean Upton on Coronation Street from 2014 to 2015.
Along with his stand-up comedy career, he also appeared in the 2009 film Looking For Eric alongside Eric Cantona.
Justin has also previously appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and appeared in his own sitcom Everyone Quite Likes Justin.
