Cici, the wife of Dave Edmunds has issued a health update on the iconic 70s rocker after he was left fighting for his life following a terrifying cardiac arrest.
The performer, 81, known for his 1970 Christmas No.1 I Hear You Knocking, was in intensive care following the medical emergency which has left him with brain damage.
In a Facebook post earlier this month, Cici shared the devastating news and described the moment her husband momentarily ‘died in her arms’, before being revived by medics.
Cici said that by a ‘miracle’, Dave Edmunds was brought back to life, that he’d been intubated by doctors but was still critically ill in hospital.
Now, Cici has shared some ‘fantastic’ news about the artist as she took to Facebook to reveal that her husband was ‘allowed on a home visit’.
She penned: ‘Fantastic News About My Beloved Husband Dave Edmunds ❤️ of 40 years. He was allowed home on a home visit from Hospital.
‘After his long month stay after suffering a major cardiac arrest and horrifically dying in my arms.
‘As you all kindhearted human soul’s know he was resurrected by a miracle and amazing medical team. Myself and my nurse. Amazing news everyone! He did so well on the home visit.
‘He’s allowed to stay here at home if my nurses look after us both. Yeah ! I can’t express my relief and my gratitude to all of you who have left such lovely posts of support and prayers.
‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️. I’ll keep you all updated on here. It’s looking positive ✨️.
‘He’s cracking jokes and walking short distances. Very short. But one has to start somewhere. He’s doing great !

Last Tuesday as she went into detail about the incident at their home in Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Cici told how she tried to ‘keep him alive’ by clearing his airways of fluids.
She then explained that a nurse began ‘heavy CPR’ and after a while declared Dave Edmunds had died, with Cici telling how she ‘refused’ to give up on her husband.
She added that he ‘very clearly’ had brain damage and memory loss, and was at ‘high risk’ of having another cardiac arrest.
On how the experience affected her, she said: ‘I’m still in shock and I believe I have PTSD from the horrific experience.
‘My brilliant talented funny and special Dave could really use as many peoples prayers and good wishes so to speak.’
Concluding her detailed post, she added: ‘Thank you all for your support and well wishes. It means the world to me. Dave will have a very long journey ahead of him if he survives. We both have.
‘But knowing that there are kind hearted people such as you all. Makes this tremendously difficult journey a little easier. Bless you all. Sending you all much love and light and always.’
Cici’s post was met with a plethora of supportive messages from followers sending their love and prayers for Dave.
Throughout his music career, Dave was part of a number of bands, his most significant being Love Sculpture, who released their debut single in 1968.
Their most successful song was a high-speed cover of Sabre Dance, which peaked at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart and even got the attention of DJ John Peel who played it twice on one of his shows.
After going solo, Dave went on to have a Christmas number 1 UK single with his cover of Smiley Lewis’ I Hear You Knocking, which sold three million copies and even reached No. 4 in the US.
Meanwhile, Dave married Swedish wife Cecilia (Cici) back in 1983, and they live in Monmouth, Wales.
