Megan Fox’s ex Brian Austin Green has revealed the terrifying reason he was hospitalized and required surgery, DailyMail reports.
According to the report by DailyMail the 51-year-old actor Megan Fox’s ex Brian had to rush to the emergency room last week because he had a perforated appendix that was on the verge of bursting.
However the first ‘couple’ of medical facilities he went to were so ‘crowded’ that he ‘ended up leaving’ to find a place where he could be seen more speedily.
Ultimately, he checked into Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in the Los Angeles suburbs, where he was able to receive medical attention ‘right away.’
He underwent his ‘first major surgery’ there and is still recovering from the procedure, he shared on his Instagram page this Monday.
Megan Fox’s ex Brian previously spent four years battling a ‘stroke-like’ illness – comprised of conditions including ulcerative colitis – which forced him to take off work between 2014 and 2017 and at one point left him unable to read, write or even speak.

He lives with his fiancée, Dancing With The Stars alumna Sharna Burgess, with whom he shares a two-year-old son called Zane.
Brian also shares three children called Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight, with Megan, who welcomed a baby daughter with her ex Machine Gun Kelly last month.
‘So last week I started feeling some pain in my stomach,’ Brian explained in a video he posted to his Instagram page on Monday.
‘I ended up going to the emergency room and I had a perforated appendix, not quite burst but just before it. I went to a couple different emergency rooms in the Valley around where I live. It was really, really crowded so I ended up leaving,’ he said.
‘I went to the emergency room for Providence Cedars Sinai and they were fantastic. They got me in right away, got me right into surgery,’ Brian recalled.
‘The aftercare was phenomenal. I mean, when I tell you every single person that was there was incredibly kind and loving and supportive and helpful, I mean it. Every single person,’ the Beverly Hills, 90210 star said.
‘So I just wanna send a shoutout to them. I think when you find great places with great people and they work really hard for you they deserve a shoutout,’ he reasoned.
‘So that’s what I’m doing. So everyone at the hospital, thank you so much for everything that you did in taking care of me,’ said Brian warmly.
‘I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first surgery, first major surgery, I’ve had small ones. You guys have been fantastic. Thank you.’
In late 2023, Brian candidly discussed his past ‘stroke-like’ illness, which lasted over four years and left him unable to read, write or even speak.
The 50-year-old Hollywood actor explained that his spiraling health problems included both vertigo and the inflammatory bowel condition ulcerative colitis.
During an appearance on the podcast Sex, Likes And Spray Tans hosted by Dancing With The Stars alum Cheryl Burke, Brian looked back at his medical crisis.
He shared that he experienced ‘neurological issues’ that took hold ‘after the vertigo’ and that at one point he spent three months bedridden.
A specialist eventually told him that along with stress, his diet was to blame – specifically ‘internal inflammation from gluten and diary.’
Brian’s struggles unfolded during the course of his marriage to Hollywood bombshell Megan , which ultimately ended in 2020.
His floundering health forced him to take years off work, between the end of the show Anger Management in 2014 and the film Cross Wars in 2017.
On her podcast, Cheryl wondered whether Brian’s sickness may have been brought about by the car accident he famously survived back in 2014.
The incident occurred that December, when he and Megan were in the vehicle together and a drunk driver crashed into them.
Brian however clarified that the roots of his distress were ‘dietary,’ while acknowledging that his circumstances could appear ‘confusing’ to an outsider.
He noted that he ‘I spent four and a half years recovering from stroke-like symptoms without ever having had a stroke. But I couldn’t speak.’
When Cheryl asked if his troubles were attributable to vertigo, Brian replied that ‘Vertigo was one stage of it,’ before explaining further.
‘It was, I had ulcerative colitis, and then I had vertigo I was bedridden for like three months, but both things were un-diagnosable. I, nobody could figure out, all the specialists that I saw,’ said the actor.
‘So these neurological things started happening after the vertigo and that was – it was four and a half years of my life. I got to the point where I shuffled like I was a 90-year-old man. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t read. I couldn’t write,’ he recalled.
‘Again, it was all undiagnosed by Western medicine, so I ended up having to finally find a doctor that is much more into like kinesiology and Eastern medicine.’
That doctor informed Brian that he had ‘such internal inflammation from gluten and dairy,’ despite having spent his ‘whole life’ eating them.
Suffering from a mystery illness was a frightening experience, he said, ‘‘cause I had no idea what caused it. I had no idea if I could relapse again.’
In 2022, he did indeed experience another bout of ulcerative colitis – one that caused him to lose 20lbs and be bedridden for weeks on end, during which time he was cared for by Sharna, who was pregnant with Zane.
