Steve Aoki has revealed that he and wife Sasha Sofine are expecting their first child together.
The DJ, Steve Aoki 47, announced their happy news live on stage during his gig at Barasti Beach in Dubai on Sunday, with the couple staging a wild gender reveal for shocked fans.
It is then revealed that the pair, who tied the knot in 2024, are having a baby boy after he slammed his face into a cake which contained blue frosting.
Sharing the exciting moment in a video on Instagram on Monday, Steve Aoki is seen on stage before introducing his wife Sasha to the crowd.
The record producer, who was shirtless, said: ‘Right, this is a special moment. This is my wife and we’re having a baby!’
As the crowd cheered, he continued: ‘We’re gonna find out of it’s a boy or a girl’
A large cake was then brought out with the word ‘AOKI’ spelled out in pink and blue icing, with Sasha then holding it before Steve Aoki proceeded to faceplant it.
After slamming his face into the dessert, confetti and blue smoke then engulfed the stage with a light-up graphic the reading: It’s A Boy!!’
The delighted couple then kissed and embraced, before Steve Aoki told the crowd: ‘We’re having a boy!’
The Instagram video then showed the American artist, who is of Japanese descent, then turning to the camera exclaiming ‘It’s a boy!’ while his face was still covered in cake and frosting.
Captioning his post, Steve penned: ‘The most important cake of my life….. IT’S A BOY.’
The use of a cake on stage is very fitting for Steve, who often throws cake at fans at most of his shows.
Aoki is the brother of actress and model Devon Aoki and their father, the late Hiroaki Aoki, founded the popular Benihana restaurant chain.
The DJ is a fixture on the EDM circuit and has worked with artists such as will.i.am, LMFAO, Iggy Azalea and Lil Jon.
Steve was previously married Tiernan Cowling, with the star tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii in 2015.
However, the pair amicably split in 2018.
Steve and Sasha walked down the aisle last year, with the couple reportedly bonding after she mispronounced his name.
