Gladiator star Paul Mescal was spotted in a popular North London restaurant ‘head in hands’ as his American pop star girlfriend Grace Abrams sat across from him ‘in fits of tears’ before she stormed out, DailyMail reports.
According to the report by DailyMail, the Irish-born A-lister, 28 and the That’s So True singer, 25, were eating out at the trendy bakery-come-restaurant, Jolene, in Newington Green before their night unravelled.
An onlooker told MailOnline: ‘They were sat at a table opposite each other and Paul had his head in his hands as Gracie just sat there crying.
‘She was crying so much that he then started to cry too.
‘She eventually got up and walked out of the restaurant while they were halfway through their meal and he was left to pay the bill before leaving shortly afterwards.
‘Everyone saw it all go down, it looked like a break-up, we were just shocked at how public it all was.’
It comes after the daughter of Hollywood director JJ Abrams visited Paul Mescal and his family in their hometown of Cork over Christmas and the couple posed for pictures with fans in a local SuperValu.
Gracie has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame this year with songs such as That’s So True and I Miss You, I’m Sorry being streamed more than half a million times on Spotify.
Paul’s previous girlfriend was also an American singer, Phoebe Bridgers, and the pair dated for two years after she spotted him in his career-defining role as Connell Waldron in BBC’s Normal People.
Paul Mescal was devastated after their break-up in December 2022 and those who met him in North London reported he would break down in tears when they asked about it for months afterwards.
But he finally moved on with Gracie and the couple are known to keep their relationship very private but have been dating since last summer, spotted only a few times together in Gracie’s hometown of New York or London.
MailOnline first revealed pictures of Paul Mescal and the US singer holding hands walking through the streets of London in July with onlookers revealing ‘they were kissing a lot’.
An insider told People Magazine in August the two were ‘hooking up and it’s in the early stages’.
In October, the Sunburn star was spotted in the VIP at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Miami supporting the Close To You singer as she performed the opening act.
Their first major appearance together was in November when they attended the Gladiator II premiere after-party as a couple.
It comes after Paul’s starring role in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel has been snubbed at the award ceremonies with the Irish actor failing to secure gongs at the Golden Globes or BAFTAs.
