Glen Close Reveals Which Co-Star Delivered Her Best On-Screen Kiss

Glen Close has performed love scenes with many an A-list star over the course of her 50-year career, but which one was the best kisser?
The actress, Glen Close 77, dished demurely on the details during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night.

The veteran star’s latest film, Back in Action with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx debuts on Netflix January 17, but host Andy Cohen and fans wanted her to delve back into her past.

During a game of Plead the Fifth, Cohen asked Glen Close who her best on-screen kiss was, Close said ‘Robert Redford in The Natural.’

In the mythical 1984 drama, Redford, now 88, starred as a middle-aged phenomenon who seemingly came out of nowhere to take his team to victory.

Glen Close played his long lost lady love.

‘I only got to kiss him once … No, maybe we did two takes,’ she recalled.

‘But I also threw him out of my apartment in that movie. But I ended up with him.’

When answering a fan question, the Emmy winner was asked about a long-running mystery involving The Big Chill.

In the 1985 dramady, Close worked with an ensemble cast that included Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, JoBeth Williams, William Hurt, Tom Berenger, Jeff Goldblum and Meg Tilly as a group of college friends who had gathered for the funeral of another member of their group.

Kevin Costner was supposed to be in the film as well, but his scenes were cut.

‘It was Kevin Costner as the body that was being prepared,’ she told the audience.

‘Yes, it was Kevin because he was supposed to be in the movie. He was in the epilogue (at the end of the film) and they cut the epilogue.’

However, Glen Close said director Lawrence Kasdan felt so bad about cutting the future Oscar winner from the film that he offered him another opportunity in the spotlight.

‘Larry Kasdan, who was the director, co-writer of The Big Chill, felt so badly — because Larry is such a good person — that he made him a star in Silverado,’ Close explained.

‘He put him in Silverado, and it made Kevin a star.’

Close, who has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including for her rabbit killing performance in 1987’s Fatal Attraction, was asked which role she though most deserved an Oscar.

‘All of them,’ she answered confidently.
