Drew Barrymore elicited an emotional reaction from Ariana Grande as she delighted her with a rarely seen prop from The Wizard Of Oz.

The 31-year-old pop star and actress Ariana Grande filmed a pre-recorded episode of Drew’s eponymous talk show that will air on Thursday, December 5.

During the TV spot, the 49-year-old host surprised Ariana Grande with Glinda’s wand from the 1939 film.

Ariana Grande, who plays the witch in Jon Chu’s live-action movie Wicked, was moved to tears by the gesture.

Upon being presented with the historic item, which belongs to a private owner, Ariana covered her mouth and exclaimed, ‘Are you serious right now?’

She showed her quick-witted humor as she pretended to leave the set with the wand while joking, ‘Thank you, guys. It’s been fun. Bye!’

For her time on the show, the singer wore a strapless, pink, diagonally-striped Thom Browne corset and matching billowy skirt.

Her blonde hair was pulled back into a sleek updo with a precise center part and no strand out of place.

Taking to Instagram to share the sneak peek at the upcoming episode after the taping, the singer-songwriter said she was ‘still speechless.’

Engaging her audience of 376 million, she tagged Drew and her show and wrote, ‘Thank you for this extraordinary gesture and moment.’

She added, ‘I’m so thankful for our talk today and for your heart, your generosity, your everything.’
The gushing note ended, ‘I love you so much. There truly aren’t words.’

Part one of Wicked hit theaters on November 22, following a whirlwind press tour full of viral moments.

The critically-acclaimed feature has already earned $366M at the global box office.

Starring opposite Ariana’s ‘good witch’ is Cynthia Erivo, who plays the character Elphaba.

Wicked follows Elphaba and Glinda as they meet at Shiz University and share a life-changing encounter with Jeff Goldblum’s Wizard of Oz.

Universal enlisted Chu to direct the beloved story in 2021.

The sequel is slated to premiere on November 21, 2025.

While promoting the movie on the Sentimental Men podcast in November, Grande discussed her role with hosts Quincy Brown and Kevin Bianchi.

Explaining the audition process, she said she felt pressure to overcome the ‘challenge’ of shedding her pop star image.

‘I felt a little bit of the initial nervousness or the sort of preconceived notions about what I might be able to deliver or not deliver, or why I would be wrong [for the role] or whatever,’ Ariana Grande admitted.
