Katie Holmes looked radiant and in high spirits as she arrived at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Daily Mail reports.
According to the report by Daily Mail, the Dawson’s Creek alum, Katie Holmes 45, beamed with a megawatt smile, possibly in celebration of her daughter Suri Cruise returning to New York for her college break ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Katie Holmes was dressed casually yet stylishly in a chic denim top with an open collar that highlighted her décolletage, pairing it with black leggings.
She kept her signature chestnut hair long and loose, accessorizing with a pair of designer sunglasses and carrying two oversized leather bags.
Her appearance came just hours after her daughter, 18-year-old Suri—whose father is movie star Tom Cruise—was spotted grabbing coffee in Brooklyn.
Suri, who is currently studying at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, is home for the holiday break.
The Mission Impossible icon is reportedly contributing financially to Suri’s tuition, though the actor has not been publicly seen with his daughter in over ten years, fueling ongoing rumors of an estrangement.
Despite this, Suri shares a close and supportive relationship with her mother.
The two were spotted together in New York City just last month, when Suri visited during her fall break from college.
Katie Holmes was married to Tom from 2006 until 2012 and the couple welcomed Suri in April 2006.
Since then she has had custody of Suri, who has reportedly not had a relationship with her father since 2013.
Katie Holmes revealed Suri recorded a cover of the song Blue Moon for her film Alone Together, a project in which the movie star wrote, directed, and starred.
‘She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing,’ Holmes told Yahoo! Entertainment.
She added: ‘That’s the way I direct in general: It’s like, “This is what I think we all want – go do your thing.
The actress also revealed that Suri sang on Rare Objects, a project Katie also wrote, directed, and starred in.
It’s unclear where Katie and Suri will be spending the holidays, though Katie maintains a strong connection to her Toledo, Ohio roots, including her parents and four siblings.
Although Katie is notoriously private about her personal life, she has opened up about her family on occasion.
‘I don’t know how my mom did it, raising all five of us,’ she said in a 2009 interview with Glamour. ‘I have three sisters and three sisters-in-law; I have learned from them. I’m inspired by them.’
In 2016, she told New York Times, ‘I’m the youngest of five, I have three older sisters, obviously I’m a mom, and I feel comfortable with telling female relationship stories because I’ve been surrounded by so many women my whole life.’
