Jennifer Lopez’s ex-staffer has spoken out about the star’s connection to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs amid her disgraced ex’s sex trafficking charges, Daily Mail reports.
According to the report by Daily Mail, Jennifer Lopez’s ex-staffer, Thea de Sousa, who worked in development in the early 2000s, took to social media to blast speculation that Lopez may have had knowledge of Diddy’s wrongdoings.
‘If you knew Jennifer Lopez, if you ever worked with her like I did, or if you were close with people who are like family to her like I am, you would know she did not have any idea about Diddy,’ Jennifer Lopez’s ex-staffer de Sousa posted on Threads.
‘She barely drinks, she is not a partier, she isn’t a good time girl, she is a workaholic who uplifts woman and who was charmed by him for a brief time in her life.’
She finished by saying that the I’m Real hitmaker, ‘does not deserve to be conflated with [Diddy’s] shocking and criminal misdeeds.’
In addition to Lopez, de Sousa previously worked with A-listers like Julia Roberts and Keanu Reeves, and was also a crew member on Seinfeld.
Lopez has previously spoken about her ‘tempestuous’ and ’emotionally exhausting’ two-year romance with the rapper, 55, who she split with over his infidelities.
JLo and Diddy were one of the most high-profile couples of the late 90s and early noughties, dating between 1999 and 2001.
Previously speaking on their romance, Lopez said: ‘And we broke up many times before that, and got back together and broke up again, and nobody knew about it.
‘It was very tempestuous. Towards the end it was emotionally exhausting. It was good that I was young.’
The singer’s first husband, Ojani Noa, blamed Diddy for their split during an interview with Despierta America.
The 50-year-old actor reflected on the end of his relationship with the superstar as he alleged that ‘part of that divorce’ was the hip-hop mogul’s ‘fault.’
‘When Sony came and paid her the millions she got, there was Puffy [Combs], who was going to be one of the producers of several tracks on the first album On The 6,’ Noa told the outlet.
‘I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant and she was between Miami and New York working on the album.’
JLo and Diddy never married, however she previously revealed that the disgraced star did refer to their relationship as a marriage and often asked for a ‘divorce.’
She told Rolling Stone in 2001: ‘He told me many times, “I want a divorce.” I would be away a lot, or he would… he couldn’t go far, whatever, but he would say, “So, where do I send the paper?”
The couple generally kept their relationship private and Jennifer explained she wanted to keep details about them ‘sacred and private.’
Their time together has once again come under the magnifying glass after Diddy was accused of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl the same night Jennifer and Diddy were pictured arguing at a party together before leaving later on alongside his entourage.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred at a house later that night, but the timing adds a troubling layer to the evening’s events and raises questions about the dynamics of the relationship during a time now overshadowed by serious allegations.
The couple stayed together for another five months, eventually splitting in February 2001.
Diddy has denied the allegations. His attorneys told DailyMail he ‘never sexually assaulted anyone’ and said the most recent ‘barrage of filings’ were nothing but ‘clear attempts to garner publicity.’
