Swae Lee came under fire after urging his social media followers not to vote for Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 election against Donald Trump.

“Do not vote for Kamala !!! Do your research on that whole [campaign],” the Rae Sremmurd rapper wrote on X Saturday.

The “Sunflower” emcee, 31, also slammed President Joe Biden’s administration for sending millions in aid to Ukraine as the war against Russia continues.

“I pay over millions in tax dollars every year this man Sent it to A whole nother country !!!!!!!!! Those lil dollars that come off your checks they gave it away !!!!!!! Think about that s–t,” he continued.

Swae Lee argued the amount of money sent to Ukraine could’ve better helped US citizens by giving them “200 grand,” adding, “I guess we don’t need the s–t.”

“And y’all standing for Kamala. My black people she don’t do nothing but sign off on things against yall ….(us) voting just cuz you think she’s black is not going to end in your favor,” he wrote.
The five-time Grammy nominee received backlash for his political opinions online.

The Rae Sremmurd rapper also called out President Joe Biden, seen above at the White House in July 2024, for sending millions to fund the war in Ukraine. AP

One person commented, “You are out of your damn mind,” while another wrote, “yuck immediately unfollowed.”

“don’t know who swae Lee is but this is another reason to not know about him,” said a third person.

“Kamala Harris is the best choice against Trump. Her leadership, experience, and commitment to justice will steer America toward a brighter future. #Harris2024,” a fourth chimed in.

Others supported the “Black Beatles” rapper, with one writing, “Admirable, especially in your industry where people get canceled for not following the herd.”

“Hit the nail on the head,” a third added.
Lee ended his social media rant by posting a video of Harris participating in the 2019 Democratic presidential debate against Republican Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, writing, “Y’all better pay attention! And there’s a lot more.”

The clip showed Gabbard dragging the former prosecutor, 59, for allegedly contributing to the “broken criminal justice system” that “negatively [impacts] black and brown people all across the country.”

Gabbard, 43, cited Harris’ time as the District Attorney of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011 and the several residents she cited for marijuana violations.

“She put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana,” Gabbard explained, referring to Harris’ 2019 interview with Charlamagne tha God.

Gabbard also accused Harris of “[blocking] evidence that would’ve freed an innocent man from death row” and keeping people in prison “beyond their sentences.”

Shortly after the debate, Harris dropped out of the presidential race and was named Biden’s choice for vice president.

On July 21, Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Harris to be the Democratic nominee.

“Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he wrote in his announcement.

Since then, Harris has also been endorsed by former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama.
