Jennifer Garner’s partner John Miller has told her it is not her responsibility to help ‘fix’ ex-husband Ben Affleck’s beleaguered marriage to Jennifer Lopez, insiders have claimed, Daily Mail reports.
Jennifer Garner, 52, has been consoling Affleck, 51, amid reports a divorce is imminent, and was last month pictured at the $100,000-a-month Brentwood property he has been renting.
According to the report by Daily Mail sources claim Jennifer Garner’s partner and rumored fiancé, businessman Miller, 46, is tiring of how involved she is in trying to ‘fix’ Affleck’s relationship with the singer, 54,
‘Of course it bothers John that Jen is so hyper focused on her ex-husband,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.
‘He cares deeply for Ben and sympathizes with what he is going through with Jennifer, but that doesn’t mean Jen should be the one to fix her ex-husband’s issues with his current wife. That makes no sense to anyone.
‘Jen is such a caring and wonderful woman and mother and there is nothing but a deep friendship and bond between her and Ben.
‘John wants nothing more than for Ben to be okay, but it isn’t his girlfriend’s responsibility to play babysitter to him.
‘That is for Ben to figure out on his own and for his wife to handle. It isn’t Jen’s responsibility, and he has told her this.’
Garner was first connected to the chairman and CEO of Cali Group, back in 2018 – the same year she finalized her divorce from Affleck, to whom she was married for 13 years.
They took a break from dating before rekindling in 2020 and have retained a relatively low profile since.
A second source claimed Miller is trying to ‘stay out of’ the current drama surrounding Affleck and insisted his relationship with Garner has not suffered as a result.
‘John stays out of it, he knows it is none of his business, so he keeps away from all of that, because who wants to talk about their ex more than you have to,’ they said. ‘But Jen can’t get away from it because it is everywhere.
‘It doesn’t affect her current relationship or her life in a negative way. She just wants to protect her kids, and by being there for Ben, if and when he needs, allows her to do that.
They added that Affleck is conscious of being a ‘burden’ and tries to avoid discussing his marital breakdown with his ex-wife, with whom he shares children Violet, 18, Fin (formerly Seraphina), 15, and Samuel, 12.
‘Jen is monitoring it all and she has told Ben time and time again, they can talk about anything, and she will be there for him to vent,’ the source said. ‘But Ben never wants to burden her and will instead just talk to her about the kids and what the kids need.’
Affleck and Lopez, who rekindled their romance in 2021 before tying the knot at a lavish bash in Georgia the following year, have been plagued by reports their marriage is on the rocks.
Sources previously told DailyMail that Garner was trying to help save the couple, affectionately known as ‘Bennifer,’ with Lopez confiding in the actress over joint fears Affleck, a former alcoholic, could relapse.
Lopez also pulled her entire This is Me Now tour in an apparent last-ditch attempt to salvage their marriage.
In a statement she said it was ‘absolutely necessary’ to scrap the long standing commitment ‘to be with her children, family and close friends.’
But despite multiple efforts, the estranged couple seem set for divorce and are reportedly seeking a buyer for the $60 million mansion they bought to live in together with their children.
On Sunday, they spent four hours locked in a summit meeting at the 12-bedroom property which has recently popped up on realtor websites, despite being removed when they bought it in May last year.
Last month Lopez was pictured viewing properties in Beverly Hills with her long-time producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas. Affleck was not present. A source later told Page Six that she was looking for an investment property.
Reports their marriage was under strain started swirling when the frequently pictured couple went 47 days without being spotted together.
In that time Lopez attended the premier of her Netflix movie Atlas and the Met Gala solo, while Affleck has been pictured on more than one occasion without his wedding ring.
They have since put on several united fronts, including Affleck’s son Samuel’s recent graduation and basketball game where the couple shared an awkward air kiss.
