Tom Holland Spotted Hours After Romeo & Juliet First Preview Was Cancelled

Tom Holland was spotted on a low-key outing just hours after his first performance in West End’s Romeo & Juliet was cancelled, Daily Mail reports.

The actor, 27, Tom Holland who debuted a new clean haircut, looked downcast as he was seen for the first time since the last minute cancellation.

After 60,000 fans scrambled to buy tickets in February, ticket holders were told just a day before the performance that the show ‘cannot go ahead as planned’.

The West End show was scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 11 at the Duke Of York’s Theatre in London.

According to Deadline, the reason it was pulled was ‘due to the technical aspects of the production needing further preparation.

Tom Holland was seen arriving at the theatre for last minute rehearsals on Friday morning and was later covering his face on departure.

Fans will be sent a link to exchange their tickets for a later date, with producers noting there is ‘limited availability’.

It is currently unknown if performances on Monday (May 13) and Tuesday (May 14) will go ahead as planned.

The delay will give Tom time to recover from his crippling injury, ready for the official opening night on Thursday, May 23.

Meanwhile, disappointed fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustration.

Some wrote: ‘This info is nowhere else to be found. Considering I paid 1300$ on resale for these tickets, I won’t be that heartbroken about it but also need fact checking.’

‘That’s going to be tough to try fit everyone in for other performances given it’s pretty much sold out.’

‘Extremely unprofessional.’

Tom Holland who is best known for playing Peter Parker in the latest Spider-Man movies, will star in the Jamie Lloyd Company’s version of the romantic tragedy alongside Harry Potter star Alfred Enoch, Sir Ian McKellen, Game Of Thrones’ Sean Bean and Richard Madden.

Director Jamie, 43, said: ‘Tom Holland is one of the greatest, most exciting young actors in the world.

‘It is an honour to welcome him back to the West End.’

Tom made his stage debut as a child when he starred in Billy Elliot The Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London in 2008.

Romeo And Juliet will mark his first West End role as an adult.
