An armed robbery suspect has been arrested with pistols, cartridges, and a knife in the Maroko area of Lagos state, Police authorities said in a statement.
According to the statement released on Thursday 18th April 2024, by the Lagos State Police Command, the armed robbery suspect was arrested at about 5am by the anti-crime patrol officers from Maroko Police Division, after they noticed a minibus do a quick u-turn upon sighting them on Hakeem Dickson Street.
The officers went in pursuit. Six persons jumped out of the vehicle running in different directions. The officers caught up with the vehicle and arrested the only person left in the vehicle, the driver, Azeez Babatunde.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of two locally-made pistols, two unexpended cartridges and a knife. The investigation is ongoing.
