Ayra Starr Stuns In New Snaps After KSA Criticism

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe known better as Ayra Starr, seems to have moved on from all the dragging she received on social media, as she took to her official social media on Saturday to share a photo dump.

The social media post from Ayr Starr, is coming a few hours after she was dragged by some Nigerians for allegedly disrespecting legendary Juju musician, King Sunny Ade. She was dragged for not going down on her knees to greet KSA in a viral social media video.

The 2024 Grammy-nominated Ayra Starr who has since apologised for the misunderstanding, was shown at the Afrozons pre-Grammy party in Lagos State, shaking hands with the 77-year-old KSA without going down on her knees or curtsying angered some Nigerians.

The singer’s gesture was described as uncultured, as that was not the way of a Yoruba child/people.

Moments after many social media users criticised her for being disrespectful, Ayra Starr issued a public apology.

She wrote “I’m so sorry, I had just walked in and all the lights and nerves didn’t let me see but i came back around to greet everyone properly, I have never been that girl to be disrespectful, I’m a proper Yoruba girlllll and the video didn’t start until after I’d greeted burna’s mom! I’m very sorry to the legend, uncle, and King Sunny Ade.”

And to show that she has moved on from the whole social media drama, the 21-year-old ‘Rush’ crooner dumped perhaps one of her sexiest snaps yet on her social page on Saturday 27th January 2024. Ayra Starr in the snaps could be seen posing in what looked like a shoot from a music video set.

Ayra Starr was recently nominated for the Best African Music Performance for her song “Rush” at the 66th annual Grammy Awards.

The nominations were announced by Recording Academy chief Harvey Mason Jr. and celebrity guests in a livestream rollout. The awards ceremony will take place Feb. 4. 2024 and be broadcast live on CBS.

The Best African Music Performance category has:

“Amapiano,” ASAKE & Olamide
