Afrobeats singer Rema whose real name is Divine Ikubor, is the latest Nigerian entertainer who will pay a courtesy visit to billionaire businessman, Tony Elumelu in Lagos.
The billionaire businessman took to his official social media handle on Saturday 13th January 2024 to share a series of photos of his meeting with the young and talented and multiple award-winning Afrobeats singer Rema at his office in Lagos.
Tony Elumelu captioned the photos with:
“Look who stopped by @heisrema!“
In the first photo, singer Rema was photographed standing on a stairway presenting a customized woody to Tony Elumelu, while spotting a facecap, a jersey, and a baggy jean matched with timberland for the photo. In the other photo, the two were photographed holding onto glasses of champagne, with Tony Elumelu holding on to what looked like a wrapped gift, as Rema watches on.
The third photo was the two of them photographed in a firm handshake outside of the office. The last photo was the two photographed in a warm embrace at the end of their special meeting.
Singer Rema solidified his status as the most successful Nigerian music act of 2023, as he became the most streamed Afrobeats artiste of 2023 across all major streaming platforms with his album, Rave & Roses deluxe version and this visit does not come as a surprise.
According to Top Chart Africa, the album garnered a staggering 3.84 billion streams since its release on 28 April via Jonzing World and Mavin Records.
Adding to its incredible success, ‘Rave & Roses (Ultra)’ has also been certified Gold in the United States (US), joining Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ as the only Afrobeats albums to achieve this feat.
