French and RB Leipzig’s forward, Christopher Nkunku is reported to have signed a long-term deal with English Premier League side, Chelsea; but no official statements yet from both clubs and the player on this latest updte.

According to a report by world-renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano who in his update on the Christopher Nkunku deal to Chelsea on Saturday 17th December 2022, reported that the French forward who missed the ongoing FIFA world cup in Qatar due to injury, can now be regarded as a new Chelsea player after the deal has been signed and sealed by all parties involved.

In his words, Fabrizio posted on his official social media handle saying:

Christopher Nkunku deal, signed and sealed here we go now confirmed. All documents and contracts are also signed, it’s 100% closed,” he posted with a photo of the French forward.

He also stated that the French striker can be considered a new Chelsea player, starting from July 2023. It’s all signed/sealed with RB Leipzig and the player side.

The deal as reported by Dailymail UK is said to be in the region of £63million for Christopher Nkunku who scored 20 goals and made 15 assists in the Bundesliga last term.

Chelsea have also been linked with another striker, in the shape of Norwegian side FK Molde’s David Datro Fofana.

The Ivorian forward could be on the move in the January transfer window for just £8.6m, and has already revealed that Chelsea would be his dream destination.

Adding the 19-year-old – who has already scored 21 goals in 2022 – to an attacking line-up that will include Nkunku next season could see the Blues field one of the most potent young offensive unites in the Premier League.
