Abuja Passenger Train Crash Leaves One Dead

An Abuja passenger train crash has left one person dead, after the train travelling from Kaduna to Abuja hit a private car trying to cross the rail track along the Kubwa area of Abuja.

According to reports, the Abuja passenger train crash incident happened at about 10am on Thursday.

The passenger train crash incident occurred about five minutes to the Kubwa Train Station, while the woman who was driving in her private vehicle attempted to cross the rail line as the train was coming on high speed.

The remains of the victim have been evacuated by security personnel while the damaged car was immediately removed from the rail track in order not cause further accident.

FCT Police To Probe Abuja Passenger Train Crash

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a statement through their official social media handle stating that they are aware of the unfortunate incident of Rail/ motor fatal accident that happened at Chikakore axis in the Kubwa Area council of the FCT. 

The command in their statement released on Thursday 15th December 2022, stated that upon receipt of the information Crime scene investigators attached to the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters drifted swiftly to the scene, took charge of the situation, where the victim was confirmed dead by medical practitioner on ground. 

Investigation has commenced by the Rail way division having jurisdiction over the track.
