The Enugu Police Command has reacted to the report of a resurgent armed hoodlums along the Ugwuogo-Nike and Nsukka area of the state.
The Command in a statement released on Tuesday 25th October 2022, stated that they have launched a manhunt for the suspected armed hoodlums said to have attacked road users along the Ugwuogo-Nike Nsukka in Oji-River Local Government Area of the state.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Ahmed Ammani personally led operatives to comb forests in the area for the suspected armed hoodlums.
Police statement on the incident reads:
“A manhunt of the resurgent armed hoodlums alleged to have attacked road users at a point along Ugwuogo-Nike/Opi/Nsukka road is ongoing. CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, personally led Operatives to comb forests in the area. We won’t allow this to fester! But we seek your usual support, pls,” the statement said on Tuesday.
The areas being patrolled by the Police are Nike/Opi/Nsukka and Enugu/Onitsha Highways, as well as Oji-River and Inyi communities, all in Oji-River Local Government Area of the state.
