The powerful man in Moscow, President Putin has in reaction to all the sanctions placed on Russia by Western countries, announced through the Russian news agency Tass the closure of its airspace to 36 States.
According to the report by AFP, the President Putin announced Monday to restrict the flights of airlines from 36 countries in response to the closure of the airspace of many states to Russian planes after the invasion of Ukraine launched by Moscow.
“In response to European states’ ban on flights of civil aircraft operated by Russian air carriers and/or registered in Russia, a restriction of flights by air carriers from 36 states has been introduced,” the agency said. Russian airline Rosaviatsia in a statement.
Among the States concerned are all the countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada.
According to Rosaviatsia, flights by airlines from these countries can still be carried out provided they obtain a “special permit” issued by the Russian authorities.
On Sunday, the European Union and other countries, including Canada, announced that they would close all of their airspace to all Russian planes.
