Former Abia Governor, and now Senator representing the people of Abia North in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has played a host to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode at his official residence in Abuja.
Both the former Abia Governor, Senator Kalu and Chief Femi Fani-Kayode were formerly card-carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and while Senator Orji Kalu defected some years back to the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fani-Kayode’s defection came just some few weeks ago. His defection also did not go down well with alot of Nigerians, especially his supporters given that he was a number one critic of the ruling party and President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to a series of Photos shared by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Tuesday 28th September 2021, on his official social media handle, the post showed Senator Kalu and other APC members and Chief Fani-Kayode at the residence of the Senator representing Abia North. He captioned the photos saying:
“It was an honor and privilege to have been invited for dinner at the beautiful home of my friend and brother Senator Orji Kalu, the former Governor of Abia state, last night.
Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Leader of the Majority in the House of Representatives, joined us and we had a great time.
Senator Kalu and I have been close for over 40 years and spending time with him always brings joy to my heart.
He is an insightful, kind, a reasonable and forthright man who I have immense respect for and whose political career spans several decades.
He welcomed me back to the APC, we discussed crucial national issues and our deliberations were fruitful and productive.
Thanks for receiving me so warmly my brother. God be with you and yours now and always,” he added.
