Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has on Sunday, confirmed that Nigeria recorded a total of 216 new cases of the coronavirus across some states in the country.
The agency in their daily update on the spread of the pandemic on Sunday 25th July 2021, posted on their social media handles that the 216 new cases recorded now put the total figure of confirmed cases of the virus in Nigeria to 171,111 as of Sunday, while the total case number discharged so far as at on the 25th July 2021, was put at 164,789 as discharged.
The agency, unfortunately, also announced that a total number of 2,132 deaths have been recorded so far as at on this same date.
While giving an update for Sunday 25th July 2021, the NCDC puts that out of the total 216 new cases recorded, Lagos state had the highest number of total confirmed cases which was put at 108, with Akwa Ibom state coming second with 96. But that of Akwa Ibom state were figures from both Saturday 24th (43) and Sunday 25th July 2021, (53).
216 new cases as reported by NCDC and recorded across the state, shows the following distribution:

Edo-2
Ekiti-1
Kano-1
Osun-1
NCDC also confirmed that six states with zero cases were reported and these are: FCT, Imo, Kaduna, Ogun, Plateau, and Sokoto.
