Ex-Enugu high court Judge, Justice Stanley Nnaji is reported to have been shot and killed by yet to be identified gunmen. He was reportedly shot on the chest.
The Ex-Enugu high court Judge was killed on Sunday night besides the Enugu Diagnostics Centre, by Ebeano Tunnel, after he was double-crossed and dragged out of his Mercedes Benz Jeep by his assailants who were three in number, as seen in a viral video shared online.
They dragged him out of his car, killed him and drove his car away.
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, confirmed the unfortunate incident, in a statement by the command’s Spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe.
The Police Commissioner has since ordered his men to go for the killers who equally carted away with the deceased’s vehicle.
The Commissioner stated that the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by doctors on duty and deposited in the mortuary for autopsy, adding that the incident took place at about “1700 hrs.”
Aliyu however, called for calm, while assuring that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
Justice Nnaji was a Judge of the Enugu State High Court until he was dismissed following his alleged role in the removal of Governor Chris Ngige, the then Governor of Anambra State in 2007 through a questionable ex-parte order.
