Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Ex- Acting Governor and also a former Speaker Hon Sam Obi, who died on Saturday.

He said:

Though his passage came as a rude shock, it underscores the inevitability of death as a moral obligation. His demise has robbed Delta State, Nigeria and humankind of a seasoned statesman.

As a colleague at the Delta state legislature 2003 through 2015, he was humble, peaceful, compassionate, kind, decisive – all sterling attributes which made him a source of inspiration in diverse endeavours.

Let’s take solace in the fact that he impacted lives positively while on earth especially his commitment to the Lord’s vineyard in his capacity as founder and pastor of the Asaba based Oracle of God Ministry.

May his soul find eternal rest in the Almighty God’s abode,” he added.

Ochei was elected into the Delta State House of Assembly in 2003 and was the Speaker of the 5th Assembly from 2011 to 2015, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He later dumped the party for the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
