Akuma: There's A Price For Threatening Buhari- Bashir

Bashir Ahmad, who is the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, has debunked media reports that one Emmanuel Akuma a pharmacist, is being detained for criticising the President.

He said a few 100s criticize the President on a daily, and nothing has ever happened to them.

Bashir Ahmad had debunked the claim while reacting to the report that Emmanuel Akuma was yet again denied bail, after nine months in detention.

He said the Pharmacist ought to know that there is a price for saying publicly that he will pay an assassin to kill the President, Muhammadu Buhari and his now late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

This was the tweet by Bashir Ahmad while reacting to the continued detention of Emmanuel Akuma. He tweeted on Thursday 25th March 2021, saying:

“For criticizing Buhari? No, a few 100s criticize the President on daily, nothing has ever happened to them. For Akuma, it’s not an issue of criticism, he publicly said that he’d pay an assassin to kill the President and late CoS. We all ought to know, there is a price for that,” he said.

Emmanuel Akuma is currently in the detention of the Nigeria Police Force and has spent nine months in custody. He was denied yet another bail application on Tuesday 23rd March 2021, by the presiding judge, Justice Folashade Giwa-Ogunbajo.

The Judge in her ruling dismissed the bail application filed by his lawyer, Emmanuel Ukaegbu and ordered Akuma to be transferred and remanded at the correctional centre.
She added that the court had earlier ordered an accelerated hearing of the matter.
