Prince Harry and Meghan interview as shared by CBS, showed Harry telling Oprah that one of the reasons that made them to leave the United Kingdom and stepping down as Senior Royals, was because he feared that history was about to repeat itself. He blamed the way the British media houses were having a go at his wife and his family.
Although the 30-seconds excerpts clip did not make mention of Diana’s name, viewers could tell that he was making references to the death of his late mother, Princess Diana. The clip also did not share most of the answers by Prince Harry and Meghan from the Oprah interview.
The Prince Harry and Meghan interview as shared by CBS also revealed Meghan’s pregnancy, as they prepare to welcome a second child since their wedding.
The full interview will air on Sunday 7th March 2021.
The first clip begins with Oprah asking the Duchess of Sussex if she was ‘silent or silenced’, with Meghan’s answer not revealed. She then asks the duchess: ‘Almost unsurvivable. Sounds like there was a breaking point?’ The clip then quickly cuts to the duke commenting: ‘My biggest fear was history repeating itself.’
Although much of the content of the interview is not revealed, Oprah is shown saying ‘there is no subject that is off limits’ and ‘you’ve said some pretty shocking things here.’ Both Harry and Meghan are seen answering questions individually and as a couple.
In the second video, Harry says he is grateful to have had Meghan’s support throughout his exit from royal life, while also expressing admiration for what his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, had to endure under similar circumstances. He tells Winfrey:
‘I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you, with my wife by my side, because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her, going through this process by herself, all those years ago. ‘Because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other.’
Prince Harry had also blamed the British Press for the toxic environment to drove them off to America.
