Zachery Ty Bryan has pleaded guilty in a girlfriend choking case and will now have to spend the next three years on probation.
Zachery Ty Bryan pleaded guilty in an Oregon courtroom on Tuesday to one count of menacing and one count of fourth-degree assault stemming from an arrest in October 2020, where he was accused of choking his girlfriend, according to KEZI. The court dropped six other charges, which included strangulation and coercion, the local news station reported. He was also ordered to not contact the victim.
Zachery Ty Bryan is best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the family sitcom “Home Improvement,” which also starred Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Zachery was arrested in Eugene, Oregon, on October 16, 2020, following a domestic dispute call.
When officers arrived at the scene, Bryan was sitting outside as his girlfriend allegedly hid in a friend’s apartment.
According to TMZ, the actor’s girlfriend told police that he pulled her by the hair and started to beat her before choking her to the point that she feared suffocation.
Prosecutors said that Zachery and the victim were in a relationship at the time of the incident and lived together part-time in California and Oregon.
His attorney said that Bryan and his wife were separated in October but are currently trying to reconcile the relationship, KEZI reported. Bryan has four children with her. He is working as a film and television producer and has his own production company in Los Angeles.
