New Army Chief's Face Enough To Scare Boko Haram-Reno

Pastor Reno Omokri has been reacting to the news of the sacked Service Chiefs, and the appointment of new ones, as the self-proclaimed ‘Buhari tormentor’ paid a particular interest on the new Army Chief, Major-General I. Attahiru. He said in his social media post minutes after President Buhari announced the appointment, that he hopes the new Army chief’s military ability is as frightening as his face.

Reno Omokri who is a well known huge critic of President Buhari, taking to his official social media handle, posted a photo of Major-General I. Attahiru, who was appointed Chief of Army Staff, with this caption:

“I hope this new army chief’s military ability is as frightening as his face! Merely looking at him is enough to give Boko Haram and herdsmen a scare. His bite better be worse than his bark,” he said.

Pastor Reno Omokri did not stop there, he questioned the President’s appointment of a non-christian as the Chief of Army Staff, as the last one was also a Muslim. He said:

“On a serious note, will #Buhari die if he appoints a non-Muslim Northerner as army chief?” he asked.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday 26th January 2021, announced the appointment of new service chiefs after a prolonged call from Nigerians to have them replaced over worsening security situation in the country.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina confirmed the appointment. He said the President has named the replacements for the sacked service chiefs and the names of the new service chiefs and posts were given as:

Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff
Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff
Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff
Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
