The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,617 new cases of the dreaded coronavirus, as the total figure now stands at 112,004 across the nation.
The NCDC in their daily update on the coronavirus situation in the country, on Monday 18th January 2021, took to their official social media page to announced that a total of 1,617 new cases were recorded. These 1,617 new cases according to the NCDC, were recorded in 18 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.
The figure also shows that Lagos is still recording the highest number of daily cases, as the state recorded 776 new cases in just one day, showing that the state has been the epicenter of the virus so far.
The 1,617 new cases as reported by NCDC are distributed as follows in the 18 states:
