The President in a statement released on Thursday 24th December 2020, by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, stated that the cancellation of the Christmas homage by religious leaders was due to the coronavirus pandemic. And also keeping in line with the prevailing protocol put in place by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, restricting large gatherings.
