Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, says his client’s time at Manchester United is ‘over’, as speculations continue on the future of the French man at the Old Trafford.
The Frenchman joined the club for a then-world record £89m deal in 2016 but he’s been consistently linked with an exit in the last three years. Pogba’s current deal was due to expire at the end of the season but United took up their option of extending it by a further 12 months, meaning the Frenchman is tied to the club until 2022.
Mno Raiola has appeared to confirm the anger on the player’s side by claiming Pogba’s time at Old Trafford is ‘over’.
‘I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United,’ Raiola told Tuttosport. ‘He [Pogba] has a contract [with Manchester United] that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell him in the next market. ‘Paul [Pogba] is unhappy. He is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him.’
The agent’s full interview is set to be released on Tuesday, on the eve of United’s crucial Champions League game against RB Leipzig.
Pogba had been keen to stay at Old Trafford after returning from injury in July following the pandemic. However, he’s struggled for form and fitness this term and he openly admitted his ‘dream’ to join Real Madrid during the last international break.
Earlier this summer, Raiola had intimated that his client was happy to sign a new deal and had no plans to leave the club. ‘Pogba is a key player for Man United,’ said Raiola. ‘They’ve an important project and he’s 100% included.
