EndSARS: FG Will Not Tolerate Any Act Of Hooliganism -Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the resumed protests by Nigerians to EndSARS, and Police brutality in the country, saying that any act of hooliganism will be decisively dealt with by security forces.

The President, in a statement released by the Presidency on Monday 7th December 2020, on their official Twitter handle, had quoted the President’s reactions to the EndSARS protests across the country.

The Presidency in quoting the President, said the security forces are well on the ground to deal with any act of hooliganism or anyone hiding under the EndSARS protests to commit anarchy in the land. The tweet quoting the President; said:

President @MBuhari today in Abuja warned that any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country,!” the President was quoted to have said.

The statement by the Presidency is coming a few hours after Nigerian youths, fathers and mothers took to different city centres in the country to continue calling for the Police and Government to EndSARS.

Recall, that we had earlier reported that Nigerian youths across the cities of Abuja, Lagos and Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Monday, have taken to the streets, as the second wave of the EndSARS protests kicks off.

Others cities expected to join the second wave are Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Ondo, Kaduna, Calabar, and others.

According to reports, there was anxiety as various police commands yesterday warned against such gatherings.

The organisers of the second wave EndSARS protests, who raised awareness on the social media, said the second wave was to demand the release of all protesters detained following the first phase.

They also want restrictions on all accounts of #EndSARS leaders at the instance of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) lifted.
