Nigerian stars make Barack Obama’s summer playlist for 2020, as songs from the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Tems, Burna and Chika were all included in the summer playlist released on Monday by the former President of the United States.
Wizkid’s ‘Smile’ ft. HER was included, and ‘Be Honest’ by Jorja Smith ft. Burna Boy, ‘Know Your Worth’ (Remix) by Khalid & Disclosure ft. Davido & Tems and ‘Crown’ by Chika were all included in Barack Obama’s summer playlist.
Barack Obama who has made it a duty to release summer playlist which is a combination of some of his old songs and the new ones he has been able to get hold of with the help of family members, dropped his latest on Monday.
Last year, Barack Obama had named Burna Boy and Rema as part of his 2019 Summer playlist, this time Chika, Davido, Tems made it into the list.
“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family,” Obama wrote.
“I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer—including songs from some of the artists at this week’s @DemConvention. Hope you enjoy it.”
The listen includes eight artists who will perform at the DNC over the next few days including Leon Bridges, Common, Billie Eilish and Jennifer Hudson.
Also making the list: classics from Bob Marley & The Wailers (“Could You Be Loved”) and Billie Holiday (“I’ll Be Seeing You”) along with a bevy of newer hits. (This reporter is partial to “12.38” from Childish Gambino.)
