Troops Kill Notorious Kidnapper Akalami High Chief A.K.A Sammy

Nigerian troops in a statement on Wednesday said that its troops acting on a credible and actionable intelligence killed a notorious criminal and kidnapper, who also was an oil thief, and popularly known as Akalami High Chief, a.k.a Sammy, at his hideout in Rivers State. 

According to the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche troops after receiving the credible intelligence on Akalami High Chief swiftly mobilized to conduct raid operation at his identified hideout along Mbiama East-West road. 

Akalami High Chief during the operation was neutralised while attempting to escape. 

Items including a locally made pistol and cartridges were recovered from the criminal. 

Akalami High Chief according to the statement by Major General Enenche, is reported to be a close ally to a notorious criminal known as VIP suspected to be one of the masterminds of the killing of 5 Battalion Soldiers around East-West road.

Military High Command congratulates the gallant troops for their dexterity and encourages them to remain resolute in curtailing the activities of pirates/militants in the Niger Delta region of the country.
