President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday requested the Senate to screen and confirm 41 non-career and one career ambassador nominees for an appointment.

Buhari’s letter of request was read on the floor at plenary by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

Among the Ambassador nominees included Debo Adesina (Oyo), Exco-Minister of State for Defence, Ademola Seriki (Lagos) and Mr Dare Sunday Awoniyi (Kogi).

The Personal Assistant on New Media to the President Bashir Ahmad confirmed this on his social media handle on Wednesday, where he tweeted saying:

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated 41 non-career ambassadors-designate, also nominated one career ambassador-designate representing the FCT. The nominations contained in a letter he wrote to Senate President, Sen. Ahmad Lawan, requesting the Senate to confirm the nominees.”
