Mr Oladapo Daniedl Oyebajo, popularly known as Dban,j has finally broken his silence on the rape allegation levelled against him by one Miss Seyitan Babatayo.
The singer through his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome is demanding for a public apology from the social media influencer, Miss Seyitan Babatayo for her false accusation.
Dbanj’s letter and call for a public apology, is coming after the alleged victim wrote them asking for a written note apologizing personally to her, and another that will see him apologizing publicly for the alleged rape.
Dbanj taking to his social media page on Tuesday 16th June 2020, posted a copy of a letter from his solicitor, Mike Ozekhome, showing ‘a demanding for a public apology,’ where he was obviously countering the stand of Miss Seyitan Babatayo who already issued a seven-day ultimatum for his to apologise to her. He posted the letter saying:
“Today is exactly 1 week after my birthday and this will be the only time I will address the recent false allegations and lies from the pit of hell.
I have chosen to do so because the incident is a slap to my marriage and my beautiful wife, my entire family and those who believe in me.
I did not want to dignify the slurs with a response but it appears my silence has empowered my accusers to think i have been scared into the shadows so I would like to state that This Accusation are false and ludicrous and Have been handed over to my Legal Team,” he said.
Dbanj continued:
“It’s unfortunate that this is coming a few weeks before the second anniversary of my late son Daniel And this well timed falsehood has reopened the painful scars of my deep loss.
To my fans and loved ones , thanks for the support, your positive comments and prayers. God bless us all. 🙏🙏,” he added.
Recall that we reported here first that one Seyitan Babatayo who simply goes by the name ‘Aunty Seyitan’ on Twitter, had on the 3rd June 2020, in a series of post on her Twitter account, alleged that she was raped by Dbanj.
Taking to twitter, she said she is livid and mad seeing a Dbanj whom she labelled ‘rapist’ being an advocate for rape, after all these years without an apology from him.
Aunty Seyitan who seems to have been tweeting and patiently waiting for a Dbanj comment, on the recent rape cases recorded across Nigeria, where young girls and women were reported to have been raped and murdered, said her case was in 2018. In some of her tweets dating back 1st June 2020, she tweeted saying:
“Your favourite celebrity is a rapist that’s why he can’t join the campaign !!!,” she said.
In another tweet, Aunty Seyitan puts again saying:
“I’m just waiting for your favourite celebrity to post anything about ‘RAPE’ so I can tell him to take it down!!!,” she said.
This was Seyitan Babatayo narration:
“I’m sharing this because I know they are other victims out there and can’t come out to talk and I pray they find their voice
Don’t come telling me I’m doing it for clout cause it took me two years to be able to do this!!!
when he left and I got to see he came in with an extra key (card) and I later found out that Dbanj lodged all his staffs in the hotel..Then I called my supposed friend Oyin who I saw at the party if she planned with Dbanj she said No.
I went ahead to threaten him that I was going to shout he said if I shout I’ll leave the hotel naked, Dbanj raped me.
I was invited for an all-white party at Eko Atlantic(splash off)which was an all-night party on the 30th of December 2018, by franklin Dbanj ex-manager at that time and I went with my friend then named Laide.
She came downstairs to meet me where I was crying. She asked us to go upstairs to meet her guy who was Dbanj’s friend. When I got there the guy was disappointed and begged me to keep quiet and promised me Dbanj will call me and apologize.
And he gave my friend 100dollars to give me to take medication,” Seyitan Babatayo added.
On Dbanj’s comment on the issue of rape, she said:
“I’m so livid and mad seeing a rapist being an advocate for rape. This is my story and I know there are lots of girls who can’t come out to say their story. Don’t be ashamed to say your story it took me 2 years to write my Rape story #wearetired.
Till today he hasn’t uttered even a word of apology.
